Waterproofing Spray Method
Leather products, especially those finished with dyes instead of pigments, are very delicate to water and dirt. A waterproof spray is effective in preventing water stains and dirt from adhering to the leather when touched by wet hands.
Silicon or oil-based sprays cannot be used, but fluorine-based waterproofing sprays can be used. New or used, it does not matter. It is best to use a waterproofing spray that is as fresh as possible.
However, even if waterproofing is applied, when the leather gets wet, please wipe off the water as soon as possible before it soaks into the leather.
We will explain the specific spraying method. (Use at your own risk)
You can use any general waterproofing spray for leather and clothing that is made from fluorine.
The following are recommended as the most waterproof products.
Spray thoroughly until the entire surface is moistened. Uneven application may result in staining.
The trick is to wet the product thoroughly, not lightly, but thoroughly and boldly.
When spraying, place something under the wallet to float it slightly to prevent the fluid from running into the back of the wallet.
The color will darken immediately after spraying, but will return to its original color once it dries. （If you touch the
leather before the waterproofing agent dries, the marks of your fingers may stain the leather, so please be careful not to touch the leather after spraying until it dries.
Spray thoroughly over the entire surface in this manner.
It may look uneven because it penetrates into the leather immediately, but once it is wet, the entire surface is wet.
For waxed leather, you may spray leaving the white wax on the surface.
When wet, it will appear to have melted away, but after it dries, the white wax look will return.
You can also spray the interior.
Even if air bubbles are left behind like this, as long as the wax is thoroughly wet, no marks will remain.
2 Let dry
After spraying, allow the wax to dry in a well-ventilated shade. The wet feeling on the surface will disappear quickly, but it will take a full day to dry completely. Please refrain from using the product until then. If the inside of the wallet is also sprayed, the inside of the wallet will be divided into two parts: one part that cannot be painted and one part that has been painted, and the drying process is complete when the uneven color at the border between the two parts has almost completely disappeared.
After drying. The bloom will return to normal again.
The inside of the wallet is now almost back to its original state, with no unevenness in color between the uncoated areas and the coated areas.
